Who Am I

Shalini is a wife, mother, lawyer and carnival lover! Growing up on the beautiful islands of Trinidad and Tobago, she enjoyed the freedom of playing outside in the sunshine with friends yet remained steadfast in her academic and professional pursuits. The power of education and independence were instilled in her as a child and these principles influenced her choice in career.

Shalini is a licensed attorney in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and became licensed in the State of Texas when she moved to the United States with her family. Shalini is an experienced and fearless litigator who has handled criminal, civil and complex family law cases.

Shalini attended the University of the West Indies, and attained her Bachelor of Laws, and then went on to Hugh Wooding Law School. Shalini has consistently been an advocate both in formal and informal settings, and truly believes that she can promote justice and achieve anything she sets her mind to. She is warm, fun-loving and friendly, like every island girl should be, but is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Shalini has broken the glass ceiling and showed up in places where she was told she did not belong… the courtroom. Shalini comes from a land of diversity and tolerance and she dreams of completely changing the way law is practiced for the inclusion and benefit of every individual.

Advocating for her client’s legal rights is what she does best.
